Gerry Dowds joins Pareto following 20 years at The Forum of
Private Business in England and Scotland where he held various
positions including that of Sales and Marketing Director.
Throughout his career, Gerry has been deeply involved in
advocacy and lobbying at all levels of government and in supporting
these representations through the media.
During his time at the FPB, Gerry was responsible for the
development of the UK sales function, building a team of over 100
sales people from scratch. He has an instinctive
understanding and successful track record in leadership and
motivation and was the first employee to reach board director
status.
Looking for a new challenge, in 2006 Gerry decided to change
tack and was drawn by the idea of franchising. Having the
opportunity to use his own skills and assets combined with the
support and expertise of an established business was something that
greatly appealed to him, and after extensive research on the
opportunities available, he chose Pareto Law.
Gerry wanted a franchise that would help other businesses expand
through the appointment of key personnel and, not wanting to take a
traditional route into recruitment, the Pareto Law model stood out
as offering a fresh approach - one that was both rigorous and
professional.
Based in Glasgow, Gerry’s aim is simple: to provide the best
service possible to companies throughout Scotland, placing talented
graduates with a wide range of businesses ranging from SMEs to plcs
and to support these companies with the best sales training
available.
He also hopes to encourage Scottish universities to embrace the
role of sales and raise its profile as a career choice for
graduates.
