Pareto Employee Sets World Record

We all hate those unnecessary stop over's when going on holiday, imagine landing in 10 countries in 13 hours!

Well, our very own Darren Cooper, recently set the world record for visiting most countries in 24 hours. He and his fellow pilot Joshua Wilson set the world record on the 31st August 2009.

This amazing adventure which is still subject to verification

will be a new Guinness World Record set for visiting the most amount of countries in 24 hours in a fixed wing aircraft. The two budding adventurers landed in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria (through the alps), Slovenia and finishing in Italy in 13hrs 32mins 45secs with an average speed of about 90mph in a 40 year old aircraft!

Darren said: "The challenge was absolutely amazing; best experience of my life. The flights didn't go without their hiccups. A few spring to mind. A rough running engine over mountainous terrain and landing at a grass strip in the Alps with only 60 seconds to spare are probably the main two. All in all the late nights of planning have all paid off!!"

The attempt to break the world record was not just for their egos, the two trepid adventurers did this amazing trip to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Schools4Schools. For further information please visit their website http://challenge24.org.uk/.
