Graduates seeking employment in the current economic climate will benefit by developing a sense of adaptability, an expert has said. While the credit crunch has narrowed job choices in certain sectors, Nick Keely, director of the careers service at the University of Newcastle, points out that there are plentiful opportunities for those who apply themselves appropriately. According to Mr Keely, a level of flexible thinking is required from those looking to secure a graduate job. "I can only suggest that this is likely to be a marketplace for students who not only demonstrate all of the normal employer expectations of graduate skills and achievement, but who also demonstrate lots of personal enterprise and a real sense of adaptability in their career planning and direction," he told the Guardian. In related news, it was recently reported that various employment opportunities could be created with UK airline BMI British Midland, after the company was taken over by Lufthansa.
