Employment agencies 'offer good support'

Employment agencies 'offer good support' Employment agencies are able to offer relevant support for jobseekers making the transition into the workplace, it has been claimed.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) points out that temporary employment arranged by an agency may be highly beneficial to university leavers awaiting the start of graduate schemes.

Tom Hadley, director of external affairs for the REC, said such agencies are can help a person to find work quickly, as well as allowing them to explore their career options and keep abreast of the jobs market.

"If you are speaking to a recruitment agency, look into some of the short term jobs which on the one hand bring in the money, but are also a good way of testing yourself in different environments," he said.

However, he stressed that it is crucial for job candidates to ensure their CV is up to scratch, given the competitiveness of today's jobs market.

According to a recent Markit Economics report, demand for medical temps was particularly strong during October.
