Brits have energy for 'five-hour days'

Brits have energy for 'five-hour days' Graduates mourning the loss of their student lifestyle may be interested to learn that workers in the UK only have the energy to work five hours of the day.

New research by high street chemist Boots has revealed that the average employee loses around 151 minutes a day as a result of tiredness.

According to the data, Brits that work nine-to-five only fully wake up 45 minutes into the day.

Workers will take a lunch break of 32 minutes on average, before hitting a lull at around 2pm.

Commenting on the findings, Boots pharmacist Angela Chalmers pointed out that diet and lifestyle changes can help reinvigorate Brits.

"Our modern-day lifestyle often means we can find it tough to stay alert during the nine-to-five and we have become a nation of slumpers as a result," she remarked.

ClickAJob chief executive Yngve Traberg maintains that attitude is a factor too, saying that "Fix the attitude and very often you fix energy problems too."
