Careful file management boosts morale

A survey by Tower Software has shown that employees who ensure that their files are in order for other users will benefit the morale of the company.

The results show that employees value being able to do their job with optimum efficiency and, if files are not readily available to them, this could be compromised.

Some 87 per cent of the respondents claimed that they had experienced "negative outcomes" when information was unavailable to them because of a new role or the absence of a colleague.

David Oates, vice president for Tower Software in Europe, Middle East and Africa, explains: "In our fast-pace modern business environment time is a precious commodity that most busy employees simply can't afford to waste."

He went on to outline how correct information management can significantly improve inter-departmental relationships.

In related news, e-skills UK recently advised businesses that communication when using the internet to train staff is "critical".
