Edinburgh has been rated as the best place to work in the UK, according a new survey conducted by Vodafone. The survey found that workers in the Scottish capital were the happiest in Britain, and there was a general view that Edinburgh was "the new business hotspot". More than 75 percent of workers in the city thought that their company was improving and this was part of the reason why Edinburgh has one of the lowest job turnover rates in the UK, with firms better at retaining staff than anywhere else. Meanwhile, people from Edinburgh were also named recently as the UK's best savers. A poll conducted by Chelsea Building Society found that the city was the thriftiest in the UK, with 15 per cent of the population claiming to have savings of over £30,000 in their bank account. It would seem that employment opportunities in Edinburgh are also among some of the UK's most prosperous, be it a job in IT sales or telecommunications.
