Organisations and managers should be more proactive about
developing specific diversity policies, according to the Chartered
Management Institute (CMI).
A clear message about diversity can help a company's performance,
productivity and recruitment, CMI claimed.
CMI director of marketing and corporate affairs Jo Causon said that
one of the main reasons firms are not proactive with diversity
policies is because they are not aware of potential benefits.
"Organisations should ensure that diversity policies are clear and
well communicated to their staff or risk losing out on the
performance gains it can generate," she said.

is top-level support, identifying where change is needed and
