Research conducted by recruitment consultancy Unity Personnel has shown that 67 per cent of their clients are asking for the "interests" section of a CV to be removed. Traditionally the part of the CV in which potential employees try to make themselves sound interesting, employers are now tiring of entries such as "socialising" and "watching television", reports Recruiter website. Commenting on this area, Alison Haw, recruitment director for Unity, said: "This section is often full of lies or mistruths, and so managers are frequently disregarding the interests of their future employees." However, she also noted that occasional candidates do strive for originality, with some of the more unusual entries including "body popping, lizard breeding and body piercing".
