Businesses are intending to make recruitment and training their top priorities over the coming year, a new report has said. According to research by professional services company Deloitte, 31 per cent of entrepreneurial businesses believe the biggest barrier to business growth is a shortage of quality talent, which may be of note graduates. Furthermore, 27 per cent of respondents said they will be focusing a high proportion of investment on recruitment and quality training, reports Recruiter. Nearly half of those polled recruit externally, while just 23 per cent tend habitually promote staff internally. Commenting on the findings, Tony Cohen, head of entrepreneurial business at Deloitte, said: "Entrepreneurs have a voracious appetite for growth and a passion for success. "As the owners and managers of their businesses there is a lot at stake and it comes as no surprise that their greatest financial investment for the year ahead will be in recruiting and training the right people to help grow the business."
