IT sales is one of the "hottest fields" in the UK employment sector, according to an industry recruitment firm. Roger Dursley, managing director of iTS European, has said that the growing use of technology in business has pushed IT sales to the forefront of the sector, with sales professionals acting as a go-between for customers looking for software and hardware and vendors offering cutting edge technology. As such, Mr Dursley claims that IT sales staff need to be tech-savvy, up to speed with the latest industry innovations and aware of client concerns over price and implementation. They also need to make sure they stand out from the competition, as the increasing number of tech savvy graduates is making the IT sector more competitive by the year. Writing on the Online Recruitment website, Mr Dursley said: "Each year, universities in the UK and Europe graduate increasing amounts of IT and technically savvy students who are looking for their ideal job. "With enthusiasm, a good work ethic and the potential to be great employees, these graduates flood the job market with applications and positive interviews." He claims that this can make securing a job in the IT sales sector a tough job for even the most seasoned veteran.
