Graduates need not fear applying for jobs after it was revealed that most employees are happy with what they do. Thousands of graduates leave university each year, with many opting to jet off on gap years rather than hold down a job in say telecommunications or field sales. But it seems now is the right time to get on the internet and start looking after it was revealed that eight in ten employees are happy at work. The study by Peninsula BusinessWise also found that 83 per cent of employees feel their boss values them and 81 per cent are rewarded for good performance. It seems that most workers put pay as their top priority with 43 per cent claiming a good salary makes a good boss. Managing director of the firm Peter Done said: "Striking a balance between professional and personal satisfaction in the workplace is a common dilemma for many of today' employers. "It is important to communicate with employees on a regular basis, whether it's through appraisals or through regular one to one meetings." He added that the world was becoming more and more focused on money and that employers needed to realise this and act accordingly or risk staff leaving to find a better paid job elsewhere.
