Scottish sales workers are taking home the highest salary in the industry, according to the latest figures from Adecco. The recruitment agency has released its annual Salary Survey and figures collated show that sales workers north of the border are reaping fine reward for their efforts. Average wages in Scotland for sales staff come in at around £19,600, £600 more than comparable wages in London. Reports claim that this is remarkable bearing in mind that wages are generally weighted in favour of the capital. Steven Kirkpatrick, managing director of Adecco UK and Ireland, said: "As the breakdown reflects, sales at present is a particularly strong sector for Scotland. "It will be interesting to see how this region develops as a hub for sales." Overall, the average wage for sales managers across the country sits at £26,344, an increase of four per cent compared to the two per cent drop noted in the 2005 Adecco Salary Survey. But there was good news for employees across almost every industry with overall wages increasing by two per cent in nine out of ten professions.
