Employers looking to boost their company's profile during the recession may wish to take inspiration from those providing graduate training schemes. Tait Walker currently runs a Business Link training scheme for graduates which has been described as "essential" for the accounting company's operation by one university leaver who has now moved up the ranks. According to nebusiness.com, Simon Brown, a graduate trainee-turned-associate for Tait Walker, told firms in the north-east: "This has helped us to form a highly specialised team which over the years, and crucially in the current tough economic conditions, has had a profoundly positive effect on our business." Skills broker for the company Vicki Taylor also added that training can be a good way to boost existing staff's morale, which in turn increases productivity. Bristol University is one of several higher education establishments to have recently received funding to provide a three-year graduate training course to its alumni.
