Almost four out of five former University of Ulster students are finding a graduate job six months after leaving, new research suggests. The institution's department of accounting found that 77 per cent of its alumni have already found work and it is looking at its links with local graduate employers to provide reasons for the positive results. Professor Marie McHugh, dean of the Ulster Business School, praised the partnerships it has set up with membership bodies like the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He said: "Their support for and accreditation of our programmes provides our graduates with a very solid foundation and qualifications which leave them well prepared for the world of work." While some firms are closing their doors to graduates as the recession goes on, accounting firm KPMG recently took on eight graduate job hunters at its Jersey offices, IFCFeed.com reported.
