B2B database increases sales for email marketing

Sales Sector News

According to an email marketing expert, a good B2B database is key for sales professionals working in an online business.

Santosh Shrivatava said that it was the "best means of gaining publicity for online business" and an effective way to increase sales.

Writing on promotionworld.com, Shrivatava said that "since email users are swelling day by day more businesses are choosing it as their primary advertising campaign".

However his recommendations were tempered by a warning to those in online sales jobs that email marketing was carefully targeted. Email marketing campaigns should be limited to clearly identified prospective clients for b2b sales, or they run the risk of being regarded as spam - either by the user or even by their automatic filtering software.

Shrivatava recommended email marketing for sales professionals as it offers immediate, instant promotion through compelling headlines and direct delivery.

In a related post last week, the director of Berners Marketing, Sue Bramall, voiced similar sentiments regarding how to increase sales through email marketing campaigns. She identified one the biggest flaws for businesses is the lack of information they have on their subscribed email addresses and on potential clients.

In a column for the Law Gazette, she said that "professionals should aim to build a database of clients, contacts and prospects that genuinely welcome hearing from them".
