An event in St Albans has given employers the opportunity to learn about the positive aspects of taken on university leavers for graduate internships. Organised by the East of England Development Agency, the conference saw David Lammy, minister for skills, address the crowd on the subject of the government's Graduate Talent Pool scheme. According to BusinessWeekly.co.uk, the initiative helps to match employers with graduate so that they can inject fresh talent into their companies, while allowing the degree-holder to gain valuable experience to help their career. Mr Lammy said: "I urge those employers who want to benefit from the skills graduates can bring to register their interest and sign-up to the Talent Pool online." The minister recently spoke at a conference for the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, where he emphasised that there is "no doubt" that graduate skills are still needed.
