A new science park which will be home to up to 25 leading companies will create 3,000 jobs, some of which could be taken up by graduates. The £38 million biotech campus in south Hertfordshire is an enterprise between the government and the Wellcome Trust, with funding being provided by pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. It is thought that 1,500 scientists will be able to take up residence at the new park, with a further 1,500 positions available for graduates with technical degrees. Andrew Witty, chief executive officer of GlaxoSmithKline, said: "Innovation is at the heart of the life-sciences industry and this park will provide a supportive environment for scientists in small biotech companies." The Graduate Recruitment Bureau recently said that science and technology students leaving university in 2010 will have a more positive experience than this year's graduates when looking for a job.
