Those looking for graduate jobs in the north-east will be given a helping hand when a recruitment event takes place in Newcastle in June. The Graduates for Business Service from commercial development firm Entrust has invited graduate job hunters to attend its Get Hired 09 show, which will help university leavers realise their career potential, according to the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette. Focusing on small and medium businesses, the event aims to provide graduates with the necessary knowledge to prepare looking for a job as well as the chance to communicate with recruiters in the area. Lisa Blackie, graduate co-ordinator for Entrust, told the newspaper: "Recession is a word that recent graduates are hearing all too often, and for many the prospect of starting their careers now is a daunting one." Graduate job hunters in Sheffield were recently invited to a major recruitment fair in the area, where university leavers were given the opportunity to meet potential employers.
