The director of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has said that 'millions' of jobs, which could be taken up by graduates, could be created with the rise of the green sector in the UK. Brendan Barber from the TUC wants the government to invest in environmentally-friendly technology to help those looking for ethical jobs, such as graduates, to find employment. A recent report by Acre Resources, Thomson Reuters and Acona raised concerns that the UK is not doing enough to attract renewable manufacturers as a third of climate change workers are not citizens of the country. Mr Barber claimed: "By investing heavily and regulating in favour of green technology, the government can turn the UK into a world leader and create over a million skilled jobs." A new graduate recruitment scheme from renewable power firm Ener-G will see university leavers trained for executive positions within two years, according to the firm.
