Management consulting 'is the top earner for graduates'

Management consulting 'is the top earner for graduates' Graduates looking to pay off their student loans as soon as possible might consider a career in management consulting because it is the best paid job for university leavers, according to a recent report.

A study by Tesco found that workers can earn about £155,000 by the time they are 25 if they opt for this career path.

It revealed that retail was the second most profitable career, with employees typically taking in £140,000 in total by their mid-20s.

Careers in the IT sector were also found to be well paid, with staff aged 25 typically taking in £113,000.

Hayley Tatum, UK operations manager for the supermarket, commented: "We pride ourselves on providing competitive starting salaries and a fast-track programme that allows our graduates to move up the career ladder at a great pace."

Management consulting involves helping firms to improve performance through the analysis of existing business problems and the creation of schemes to improve profitability.
