Students studying chemistry
at University College London (UCL) have not been affected by
increasingly pessimistic reports about the state of the graduate
Two students, Ben Robinson and Alex O'Malley, who are both studying
the subject at UCL, expressed positive opinions about their chances
of employment when they graduate.
Ben said the chemistry industry is "understaffed" but was aware
that some students would be taking internships over the summer to
prepare for a competitive graduate job race.
Alex also displayed an optimistic outlook, saying that the
recession hasn't affected his plans: "It hasn't actually, no. I've
