Optimism for graduate science jobs

Optimism for graduate science jobs Students studying chemistry at University College London (UCL) have not been affected by increasingly pessimistic reports about the state of the graduate job market.

Two students, Ben Robinson and Alex O'Malley, who are both studying the subject at UCL, expressed positive opinions about their chances of employment when they graduate.

Ben said the chemistry industry is "understaffed" but was aware that some students would be taking internships over the summer to prepare for a competitive graduate job race.

Alex also displayed an optimistic outlook, saying that the recession hasn't affected his plans: "It hasn't actually, no. I've been working on the basis that we are always going to be needed."

Recruitment service Gradcentral recently told those looking for graduate jobs to remain positive in the face of media reports because there are positions out there, according to the Shropshire Star.
