Police keen to increase graduate jobs in east Midlands

Police keen to increase graduate jobs in east Midlands The Lincolnshire police force is keen to employ university leavers and provide more graduate jobs in the east Midlands.

Speaking in the University of Lincoln's student newspaper the Linc, senior recruitment officer for the county's police force David Freeman said that graduates are attractive employees for the sector.

He said graduates often move up the ladder very quickly because of the skills they gain in their degree and Mark Stow, employment opportunities manager for the university, explained why the public sector is a good place for graduates.

"Job security, a great pension scheme and flexibility are all attractive aspects of working for local government. They're huge organisations and you'll be able to transfer most of the skills you learnt at university to the jobs available," he told the newspaper.

Peter Neyround, former chief constable for Thames Valley police, recently told the Times that the police force should do more to attract graduates.
