Companies adopting flexible working must ensure their employees are fully informed about the changes, it has been claimed. Susan Yallop, a director at Ade cco, told Management Today that such alterations can be challenging for both employers and their staff. Ms Yello advised companies implementing flexible working practices to set a "reasonable deadline" for when the system should be fully up and running. A spokesman for ClickA Job said: "Sudden changes make staff feel uneasy, as if something is seriously wrong. "That means you need their buy-in before new systems are put into place - if they are enthusiastic, most of the challenges just disappear." He added that such changes take some getting used to, as it is a "major switch-around" when starting to work from home. The Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) has urged companies not to cut back on their graduate schemes in an attempt economise during the economic downturn.
