Those looking for graduate jobs in the technology sector will be interested to hear the comments of a representative from IT organisation Intellect, who has said the industry will recover. Charles Ward, chief operating officer at Intellect, said that the industry should not be worried about a drop in demand caused by the recession because the sector has not stopped growing and this will help it recover. Mr Ward added: "A couple of things which give us comfort on behalf of the sector is, unlike many other industries, this sector, in terms of what's happening out there in the wider customer base, doesn't stand still." The amount of people using the internet and purchasing mobile phones has increased, according to Mr Ward, reflecting the opinions of respondents in the Tech Sector Barometer Survey published at the end of last month. Results of the survey, published by the Economist Intelligence Unit, said that 20 per cent of those questioned believed that demand for technology products would rise in the next six months.
