Being easily contactable, honest and punctual are all things that a graduate job hunter should ensure to boost their chances of being successful after an interview, it has been suggested. After speaking to a number of recruitment experts, Graham Snowdon has written in the Guardian 50 things that individuals can do to improve their chances of securing employment. Alongside tidying up a CV and discovering locations where they will find a greater number of available jobs, Mr Snowdon also highlights ways graduates can heighten their appeal to employers. Among these are being professional in terms of answering calls and messages and expressing themselves to be a class apart once in an interview room. Mr Snowdon said: "The phone number you put on your CV should be one you can either answer immediately, or one that has voicemail. "A smartphone, such as a BlackBerry or iPhone, makes it easy for you to pick up email on the go." It is added that job hunters should be prepared for common questions, while rehearsing in front of a live audience in advance will only help to enhance preparations further. Meanwhile, Accountancy Age recently reported that Deloitte is to permit graduates to reapply for jobs 12 months after a failed application in a bid to allow them to overcome any problems that may have surfaced in an initial application.
