University leavers should be encouraged by news that UK companies
are beginning to offer more job vacancies, one industry observer
suggested yesterday (May 26th).
Earlier this week, the Confederation of British Industry revealed
that just six per cent of firms across the country have a
recruitment freeze in place at present.
Lisette Howlett, managing director and founder of online
recruitment community HireScores.com, explained that the findings
are particularly encouraging in the current economic climate.
However, she also urged graduate job hunters to be relentless in
their quest to secure a permanent role as competition is likely to
remain fierce in the coming months.
"As things start to ease in the economy more people will also be
looking to move on and this creates a knock-on effect," she
