Graduate job hunters may be interested to hear that the chairman of the Recruitment Society believes that employers should be doing more to include and nurture young graduates in the workplace. Steve Huxham said that despite good work from the government in providing extra help and support for younger people and lower earners, it could be too little too late for some individuals. He added: "From an employer point of view, for those people who are in work, and are younger and on a lower income, there is always the issue of how much responsibility should be with the employer - particularly the larger ones - to train and develop their people. "Some employers are very good [at this] but it is very patchy. So as part of their need to both attain those people and to improve their prospects; there is a lot more that can be done by employers to encourage their younger workers who are unqualified to take on extra courses and skills."
