Graduates could find a number of vacancies arise in the environment sector after the editor of a leading green magazine announced that he expected strong growth in the area. Editor of BusinessGreen.com James Murray said that as more businesses adopt green technology the need for employees in the sector will rise exponentially. "It is definitely a growth area. If you talk to some of the people in this area it is one of the few sectors where there are skills shortages where the demand for jobs outstrips the supply of skilled workers. "So those people who do have those skills are one of the rare groups who are in a fairly strong position in the jobs market." His comments come on the back of an announcement by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills that the Environmental Innovation Fund has been launched with a £125 million investment.
