Graduate job hunters may be interested to hear the results of a British Chambers of Commerce survey into the economic impact of a hung parliament which suggests that outlook may not be rosy. The Monthly Business Survey showed that nearly two-thirds of businesses are "concerned" or "very concerned" about the potential impact of a hung parliament, showing the growing unease associated with no clear majority. David Frost, director general of the BCC, said: "Businesses are right to be wary about the prospect of a hung parliament. Instinctively, companies prefer a clear mandate to lead and govern. "With our economy still fragile and the public finances in a dire state, the overwhelming concern is whether a hung parliament will provide decisive action around the UK's unsustainable deficit." Labour and the incumbent prime minister are currently last in the polls but due to the quirks of the British electoral system they could still prevent either the Conservatives or Liberal Democrats from holding an overall majority.
