Graduate job hunters may be interested to hear that the most Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) JobsOutlook survey showed that 96 per cent of employers expect their permanent workforces to stabilise or grow in the next three months. This news, which should comes as a boost to recent university leavers looking for degree-level employment, also contained details that suggested 86 per cent expect their use of agency workers to grow or stay the same within the same period. Looking further ahead, 94 per cent of employers expect to maintain or grow their permanent workforce over the next 12 months. Roger Tweedy, the REC's director of research, said: "This is the most encouraging sign we have had so far that the jobs market is now gathering momentum led by a higher demand for temporary workers. "Following last month's slight dip in employer confidence businesses are forging ahead with plans to stabilise or expand their workforce. This fits with the feedback from professional recruiters on the ground, who are reporting increased hiring."
