The government's Backing Young Britain campaign has received high-profile support in the form of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) who yesterday (February 4th) pledged to aid the drive aimed at helping unemployed graduates and young people find work. This announcement comes on the back of the formation of the REC's Youth Employment Taskforce which was established in November 2009 to group together top recruiters and HR executives to help find practical solutions to restrict youth unemployment. Specific issues that the Youth Employment Taskforce deal with include projecting what the jobs of the future are for young job-seekers as well as providing support for young people and graduates entering the labour market. REC chief executive Kevin Green said: "The REC supports the aims of the Backing Young Britain Campaign and we will be using our Youth Employment Taskforce to drive the debate forward. "As well as enhancing support to young people, the government must stimulate job creation, for example through the tax regime and by encouraging entrepreneurship."
