University leavers should make use of a service designed to take some of the strain out of hunting for a graduate job, it has been suggested. The Graduate Recruitment Bureau is a "careers matchmaking" company which now receives 75,000 unique users per month, a rise of 50 per cent since 2008. After receiving CVs from candidates, the firm uses their skills and qualifications to line them up for appropriate jobs and even makes follow-up calls, the Independent reports. The majority of the jobs are in the banking, IT and consultancy sectors and are rarely advertised publicly, as firms tend to prefer enlisting recruitment agencies. He told the newspaper: "We do all the work behind the scenes. We've got contacts with hundreds of employers, and we make sure your CV gets to the front of the queue." Last month, vacuum manufacturer Dyson revealed that it plans to recruit an additional 350 scientists and engineers to work at its base in Malmesbury.
