Science graduates in Scotland to receive training and skills

Science graduates in Scotland to receive training and skills Graduates looking for recruitment in Scotland's life sciences industry may be interested to hear that a new programme has been launched to help unemployed science graduates learn new skills.

The Science Graduates for Work programme was launched yesterday (March 1st) to help talented graduates unfortunate enough to have not found work yet to learn valuable laboratory skills and to be taught about industrial awareness in the workplace.

Said programme, run by Forth Valley College will combine college-based work with a work attachment at a life sciences company, with three major firms already lending their support.

Keith Brown, the minister for skills and lifelong learning, said: "We know that we have the talent and it is through programmes, such as Science Graduates for Work, that we will ensure they find a way to transfer their skills into the workplace and that Scotland's life sciences industry continues to flourish."

Science is becoming increasingly less popular at academic institutions and candidates with the right skills could find themselves highly sought after in the degree-level job market.ADNFCR-834-ID-19645053-ADNFCR
