Tuition Reimbursement for Jobless Graduates

Tuition Reimbursement for Jobless GraduatesIn the current economic climate there are many graduates and soon-to-be, who are having difficulty finding jobs and are left with Mountains of debt

Last month however an anonymous third year Boston college law school student posted a letter on a student’s newspaper site, enquiring as to whether the school dean would provide a refund.

In this letter the student discussed his dim job prospects and pregnant wife ‘many of us are in an enormous amount of debt from our legal studies’, and ‘soon after our graduation we will be asked to make very large monthly payments towards this debt, regardless of whether we’ve been able to fund employment or not’.

The letter “Open Letter to Interim Dean Brown,” received a lot of attention through many social networking sites, blogs, and national media. As for whether the student was ever reimbursed we don’t know, but a spokesman for the law school issued a written statement saying they were concerned over the current job prospects for their graduates.

Although this story is about an American University, this is happening throughout the UK with many graduates left to live at home and get part time jobs with no prospects, trying to weather the storm until the job freeze totally lifts.
