There has been a significant increase in the number of female directors across multiple sectors, according to new research. A new survey by multi-sector recruiter HR GO founds that some 40 per cent of its directors are women, which may be of note to aspiring graduates. This is substantial increase from a study conducted by global information services company Experian in 2007 which indicated that just 28 per cent of directors in the UK were female. Jack Parkinson chairman at HR GO, said: "The survey shows that the business model enables women to contribute at the director level. "It is fitting that we should have such a high proportion of female directors as the business was founded by my late mother, Betty Parkinson in 1957, after she narrowly missed being involved in the Lewisham rail crash." He added that his mother remains a "great role model" for women who are keen to balance their careers with family life at home. HR GO has nearly 60 joint venture companies.
