Sales training has been recommended as a positive investment option for companies looking to make the most of the festive season. Inside Retailing's 'Retail Doctor' said that turnover could be increased if staff are given the sales training they need to boost their selling skills - such as customer interaction and knowledge of products. The expert claimed that sales should be the main focus for all companies over Christmas, as the period provides a unique opportunity for trading. The news provider advised: "Reduce the non-essential, non-sales tasks dramatically. Maximise every available minute of sales and service time. Treat this period as a specific staff competition period with prizes for sales, average sale, items per sale and conversion rates." Morgan Marine, a manufacturer of glass-reinforced polymer in the south Wales, recently encouraged other companies to invest in sales training after it used National Assembly subsidies to do so, the South Wales Guardian reported.
