A recent Randstad survey as found that many graduates believe they will attain their desired graduate job within 6 months
The survey which looked at the latest trends in the job market have found that the UK demonstrated the highest increase in job seeking confidence since the first quarter of 2011.
Mark Bull, Chief Executive Officer at Randstad UK said, “Although the recession formally ended in Autumn 2009 it continued to cast a long shadow over job seeking behavior. Many employees remained too fearful to explore career options external to their organisation until they were more certain of our economic footing. Despite public sector challenges that fear is now evaporating. This increase in confidence is welcome news for UK plc and will ensure businesses can attract the top talent and fresh ideas needed to sustain the UK's continued recovery."
The survey has also found that many graduate job hunters are turning to social media to help in their job search. Many graduates use such sites as LinkedIN to find employment and also to find out information on potential employers. Although UK employers are far behind Asian countries with only 35% utilising social media, this figure is constantly increasing as organisations realise the benefits of targeting their future graduates this way.
