Graduates could consider Morrisons for recruitment after jobs injection

Graduates could consider Morrisons for recruitment after jobs injection Graduate job hunters may be interested to hear that supermarket firm Morrisons is set to create 20,000 new jobs over the next three years, potentially creating a raft of opportunities for recent university leavers.

Norman Pickavance, the group HR director, told Personnel Today, that the jobs would be created as part of a move to open up 60 new stores across the country in the same time period.

The announcement was made in the wake of an announcement from the retailers that full year pre-tax profits rose by 30 per cent to £858 million, while turnover rose by six per cent to £15.4 billion.

They opened 45 stores over the past year and will be sending out brochures to schools later in the year detailing the career opportunities at the company, while also launching a trainee programme to fast track individuals into the current management training programme.

This news comes soon after the chairman of the Association of Recruitment Consultants said he had seen a definite increase in the amount of IT recruitment in the last month.ADNFCR-834-ID-19667065-ADNFCR
