Young people in the first or second graduate jobs are considering moving after the economy picks up unless their employers offer better training schemes, according to a new survey. Carried out by TMP Worldwide, the research showed that 43 per cent could see themselves want to change jobs in the near future, but just under 100 per cent said they would reconsider if they were given adequate skills training, according to Onrec.com. The research showed that 25 per cent of those in graduate jobs have seen a cut back in training by their employer, but the new research shows that this could be a bad move. Neil Harrison, head of research and planning at TMP Worldwide, told the website: "The message from graduates is really quite clear - employers that fail to invest in training programmes risk losing the new recruits that they took significant time and effort to recruit and train." Employment advice organisation Working Links recently emphasised the importance of skills and training for company bosses to get a higher calibre of performance from staff, such as graduates.
