University fees of graduate trainees for a pharmaceutical giant to be paid in full
Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has commented that they will start paying off tuition fee debt for its graduates they recruit when university fees rise.
These proposals would end up costing GSK around £3m a year, with the company intending to recruit around 100 graduates. Although the government set the bar at £6,000 for tuition fees, it is very likely that many universities will charge the full £9,000. Imperial college London has recently just announced it will charge the full amount with Exeter University following.
Obviously this payment will be made in full upon completion of employment which is set at the employee remaining at the company for a minimum two years. This will come into affect in line with the government’s introduction of the fees increase.
KPMG have also recently said that starting this autumn they would be paying their graduate trainees university fees, which both firms have said that this is now required to attract the best talent available.
