The huge increase potential of web technology has created the opportunity for many graduate vacancies
The IT sector will create these graduate jobs after it was suggested that smaller companies can make more money through growing their understanding of the web technology.
According to Phil Kingsland, site director of internet user’s educational and advisory portal knowthenet.org.uk commented that there will be ‘tremendous scope’ that small businesses have to increase their turnover that comes from the internet.
The amount of larger business that generates business from online is substantially higher than smaller businesses. According to figures from the Interactive Media Retail Group, e-retails market grew from £0.8 billion in 2000 to £58.8 billion in 2010.
Currently the amount of internet connected devices sits at around 3 billion; however in 2015 the BBC predicts this number to reach 15 billion which is twice the world’s population. This means 1 person will have access to around 3 devices which can connect to the internet.
The devices need an IPv4 address which the stock of these is now depleting which means that a new address system IPv6 needs to be released which can support a far greater amount of internet connected devices. Therefore with the predictions businesses must be ready for the increase in online activity to increase their share in the e-retail market. Businesses will have to look to newly skilled IT graduates in a bid to increase their awareness in the IT sector.
