Cheaper technology is making it easier and more cost-efficient to work productively while mobile, it has been claimed. According to media company 3 UK, the falling cost of and increasing capability of mobile technology has made it easier than ever to work while on the move. The group noted that one of the most significant barriers in the past had been cost, but this has now largely been overcome. Commenting on the issue, Renato Bottini, head of business at the firm, said: "It is all about people now choosing when and where they want to work and how they want to work and be more productive and flexible. "It's not about the hours we work or being a slave to our devices, it's about our devices being slaves to us." According to the Vodafone Critical Response Time Index for 2008, putting off dealing with a call or email for half an hour can cost thousands.
Roles utilising graduates are at the forefront of many of the mobile revolution. Paul Drew, Marketing Manager, said: "most graduates embrace new working cultures and practices more freely than those of experienced staff which enables companies to role out more cost effective and productive solutions. We find that most of our clients are at the forefront of these and they benefit immensely from the flexibility of the technologies and graduates."
