UK job vacancies on the rise

google jobs 150UK job opportunities have grown in the past month

The number of permanent job vacancies in the UK has risen by six percent according to the latest figures which continues the growth seen at the start of 2012.

Many experts believed that the positive figures recorded in January were only a reaction to the post-Christmas boost and the start to a new year. The figures suggest that with the economy recovering many companies are starting to increase their recruitment drive, showing signs of a long term return to confidence in the market.

Steven Kirkpatrick, managing director of Adecco, said that the recent introduction of the Agency Worker Regulations had little impact on the way UK companies are recruiting.

"This is great news for temporary workers, as there was much concern towards the end of last year that the new Directive - which entitles agency workers to the same basic pay and working conditions as if they had been employed directly - would lead to a cessation in the use of agency staff," he added.

The job data and economic outlook is giving companies a great confidence boost for the year ahead, allowing companies to once again start hiring and reduce the rate of unemployment.
