University leavers from "all sorts of disciplines" are welcome to apply for graduate jobs at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the company has revealed. The accountancy firm has demonstrated its commitment to finding the talent of the future during the economic downturn by taking on a record number of graduates. In its spring intake, 66 per cent of the 153 new recruits possessed degrees in the arts, science or humanities, which are not traditionally associated with financial services. The company is now planning to appoint hundreds more graduates in September and October after witnessing a 15 per cent rise in applications already this year. Sonja Stockton, PwC's head of recruitment, told the Independent: "The important thing is skills and experience. "You might get that from running a football team or being a carer - it's not just about being in an office." Ms Stockton urged interested graduates to check the company's website and to register for mobile phone updates regarding relevant job news. PwC is regarded as one of the 'Big Four' accountancy firms and earned aggregated worldwide revenues of $26.2 billion (£18.3 billion) during the 2009 fiscal year.
