Sales recruitment sector and the industry vital in developing the UK’s skills policy
According to the recruitment and employment confederation (REC) the role played by the sales recruitment sector and the industry will be vital in developing the UK’s skills policy. The REC, in a response to the government consultation for sustainable growth, that there needs to be a greater role for the recruitment industry and their skills policy.
The consultation publication also includes details on how to take forward initiatives for investing in learning and how to ensure training leads to new skills and not only accreditation. This skills agenda will be central in exploring ways to solving the continuous shortages in the highly skilled jobs market. With many graduates currently unemployed, giving them these work skills is integral to not losing a genereation of graduates.
Tom Hadley, the REC’s Director of Policy and Professional Services also commented saying: “We welcome the chance to make a contribution to shape the future world of work by providing the Government with a comprehensive and informed view of how the recruitment industry can become integral to the whole future skills landscape.”
The pace of change is increasing and this means that businesses are continually looking for new ways to be faster, leaner, and more creative to gain that competitive advantage, learning and development of skills is integral to this process. Businesses face high costs in recruiting therefore the need for an assessment process to find the perfect graduate is of utmost importance to develop them even further and provide businesses with their future leaders.
