According to David Cameron sales people are best placed to lead the economic recovery
David Cameron sent a letter to the finalists of the British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Awards (BESMA), he described the sales profession as the ‘catalyst to economic recovery’.
David Cameron also outlined the importance of the sales and marketing profession in the next decade and their efforts will become ‘one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial decades of our history’.
The Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM) who run the BESMA awards, released the letter by the Prime Minister and will discuss the comments when their executives meet in September. Stephen Wright, commercial director at the ISMM, said “At the Executive Forum, we explore what the leaders of UK plc think of the state of selling and sales management - and whether David Cameron is right to put such faith in our profession.”
Many graduates are turning to the sales profession during this economic climate because of a lack of jobs in their preferred profession. Graduates are also looking for graduate jobs that offer higher remuneration rather than other benefits which many sales jobs have to offer.
