Sales training provides a positive impact on sales performance according to the Aberdeen Group
Independent research undertaken by the Aberdeen Group has shown that sales training can have a real impact on sales performance and increase growth. Aberdeen Group’s researcher brief, “Sales Training 2011: Uncovering How the Best-in-Class Sustain, Reinforce and Leverage Best Selling Practices” (October 2011) details how sales training improves average deal size, lead conversion rate and customer renewal rate.
According to Aberdeen Group analyst Peter Ostrow, despite the recent recession and business stability, sales training has emerged as a must have for sales teams. According to the report, it showed that training providers which have an instructor led, in-person/classroom structure for sales training sees better results for their clients.
Training is a critical part of any industry; there are always new technologies, products, processes and opportunities coming on the scene. This is the same for sales, where technology has had a huge impact on the way we sell. The introduction of email marketing, social media and many other such technologies that make it easier to interact with our clients and prospective customers. Sales training is forever evolving, with introductions of new practices always appearing which means that refresher courses are always needed.
