Student Views on Graduate Recruitment

Graduate Recruitment Views

A new piece of independent research is asking for student's to give their views on graduate recruitment.

The Graduate Barometer 2010 is a large scale project conducted by Trendence. It is set to replace the European Student Barometer and will gather student opinions from both universities and users of graduate recruitment services in 22 European countries.

The Barometer asks students how satisfied they are with their current studies and what they expect in the future. Over 775 Universities in the European Union are volunteering their student body for participation in the study, but any recent graduate or current student can take part in the study online.

By gathering opinions, Tredence aims to explore the differences and similarities that exist among countries for both the graduate jobs market and higher education itself. It is hoped that it will help careers services make the transition from student to the labour market easier.

As well as providing information for graduate recruitment in the coming year, the survey will be used as part of the criteria for the TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards. These awards are informed exclusively by student feedback, and recognise popular graduate recruitment companies in twenty seperate industry sectors, as well as successful careers services and marketing campaigns.

The survey will run until the end of 2009 and includes a prize draw for either cash prizes or a 6 month contract in a graduate job with Tredence in Berlin. A total of £4000 is on offer for runners up in the prize draw, whilst the six month contract features a monthly salary of 1000 euros.
