90% of university graduates would recommend going on to further education according to reed
A recent study from reed has found that despite the all the gloom and doom surrounding universities at the moment 9 out 10 graduates would recommend going to university to current a-level students. However given the chance again many students would change their course with almost 50% surveyed would change their degree.
However students were not as positive when it came to degrees preparing them for work with 55% of those surveyed saying that their degree did not prepared them enough for working life and only 34% agreeing that there degree was the reason they got their first job.
Mark Rhodes from reed has this to say “Despite the rising costs of a university education and the often gloomy take on the graduate jobs market seen in the media, today's graduates still advocate the importance of their degrees.”
"Three years or more studying in a university environment can have real benefits in terms of character and personal development, not to mention the value of a good degree. Combine this with a flexible, resilient and open-minded approach to finding work and it's not hard to see why employers continue to value the most successful graduates so highly."
